How Do You Pay for Sod? Cards, Phone Orders and Split Pay

How payment works when you order sod online or by phone, what cards and wallets the checkout takes, how the 50% down split-pay plan works on larger installation orders, and what the cancellation window looks like.

You pay for sod online with a card, or with one of the digital wallets shown at checkout. If you order by phone, the team builds your quote and emails you a secure checkout link, and you pay there the same way. Installation orders over $3,000 can be split 50/50: half charged when you order, the rest after the install is complete, at 0% APR. Delivery is a flat $200 and is in your total before you pay.

Nothing on the order page is a mystery, but people still call to ask before they buy. This is the whole picture in one place.

The short answer

Card or digital wallet, online, before delivery. Every order, whether you built it yourself on the website or an agent built it for you on the phone, ends at the same secure checkout page. Larger installation orders can be split into two payments. That is the full list.

Ordering online

Enter your ZIP code, pick your grass, enter your square feet, and the cart shows the per-pallet price for your market, the flat $200 delivery, and installation if you add it. Checkout takes major cards and the digital wallets you see on the page. You pay the full amount, or the first half on a qualifying split-pay order, and the delivery date is scheduled with you afterward.

You see the complete total, including delivery, before you enter a card. There is no charge that shows up later that was not on the page.

Ordering by phone

Many people would rather talk it through. Call 1-866-886-2763, and the team will confirm your ZIP code, help with the square footage, and build a quote for you.

That quote comes to you by email with a secure checkout link. You open it, check the lines, and pay by card in the same checkout the website uses. Nothing is charged until you do that. If you would rather give a card number over the phone, ask the team when you call and they will tell you what is possible.

The 50% down split-pay plan

There is one payment plan, and it is for larger installation orders.

  • Who qualifies: orders that include installation and total more than $3,000.
  • How it splits: half is charged when you place the order. The remaining balance is charged after your installation is complete, and you get an email when it is due.
  • Cost: 0% APR. The two halves add up to the same total you would have paid at once.
  • Not for sod-only orders. If you are laying it yourself, the order is paid in full at checkout.

The checkout shows you the split automatically when the order qualifies, so you can see what is due today before you confirm. How much does sod installation cost? explains how installation is priced per pallet, which is what usually pushes a bigger yard past the threshold.

There are no other financing programs. If you have a different arrangement in mind, ask the team.

What is in the total

Your total is made up of a few lines, and every one of them is visible before you pay:

  • Sod, priced per pallet for your ZIP code.
  • Delivery, a flat $200 on any order with sod, however many pallets. What does sod delivery cost? has the detail.
  • Installation, per pallet, only if you add it.
  • Extras you choose, such as topsoil.
  • Sales tax where it applies.

An on-site measurement, if you book one first, is credited at checkout toward your sod order. What does an on-site measurement cost? covers how that works.

Receipts and order status

Once you pay, you get an order confirmation by email with the lines and the total. Updates about your delivery come the same way, and you can always call with your order number. If you need paperwork in a particular format for a builder, an HOA or an insurance claim, ask the team and they will tell you what they can send.

Changing your mind

Because sod is harvested for your order, the window to cancel is fixed. You can cancel up to 72 hours before your scheduled delivery or appointment, and a $100 processing fee applies. Inside that window the farm is already cutting for you, so the order cannot be cancelled. To move a date rather than cancel, call as early as you can.

Once the sod is delivered and accepted, the sale is final. If there is a problem with the sod as delivered, say so at the truck, and What if your sod arrives dead? explains what happens next. The FAQ covers the shorter version of all of this.

The bottom line

Pay by card or wallet in one secure checkout, whether you order on the site or by phone. Bigger installation orders can split in half at 0% APR. The total, delivery included, is on the page before you enter a card, and the cancellation window is 72 hours before delivery.

Check your ZIP code to see varieties and pricing for your area, or call 1-866-886-2763 with any question about paying for your order.
